Neem uit die verlede.

Unread postby kaaskop » Thu Aug 28, 2008 2:52 pm

For my birthday I got a wonderful book. The second print of "Neem uit die verlede from U de V Pienaar" It was a wondeful eye opener for me about all the history behind the KNP. I am still busy trying to work thru the book. When I read all the complaints and discussions on the forum, I wonder how many people know all the History behind the park. Many of their questions will be answered after reading this wonderful book. I think that a lot of forumates will stop complaining about the small peti that we read so often.

An employee of Protea Bookshop in Hatfield Pretoria phoned to inform me that the English translation version of the book "Neem Uit Die Verlede" is scheduled to become available within the next few months .

I will post any news as they have promised to inform me when it is available .
KNP is sacred. I am opposed to the modernisation of Kruger and from the depths of my soul long for the Kruger of yesteryear! 1000+km on foot in KNP incl 56 wild trails.200+ nights in the wildernessndloti-indigenous name for serval.

A classic Kruger book in my opinion. An all time Kruger-related favourite of mine.

You can also try their website I only saw the Afrikaans version on there but maybe contact them and ask about the English one.

I've also seen the Afrikaans title listed on kalahari.com and amazon.com

This remarkable book is now also available in English. Its called " A Cameo from the Past' At R750,00 it is not cheap, but a must have in any Kruger lover's arsenal. Over 740 pages, so it is not a field guide. Available from Kalahari.com.
