Bit of extra info for non SA residents: a flat rate of R150 for normal shipping on all overseas purchases for one copy. Preferred method of payment is credit card otherwise wire transfer will suffice. Customers should ensure they pay the amount inclusive of bank charges if paying by wire transfer.

It is a good book. It gives real insight in to both brown and spotted hyena behavior, as well as the life of a scientist in KTP.

Worth a read! :thumbs_up:

Argh.

They have it listed on Amazon USA but say it is "out of print/limited availability". I haven't had much luck in books making it to me internationally. :/

Finished this one last week. Amazing and I couldn't recommend it more. Amazing behhavioural anaysis of hyenas and margie's descriptions of life in ktp in the 1970s are just awesome!

You can get this at almost any big bookshop in sa now.

I bought the book yesterday. I started to read it this morning. My daughter walked into my room this morning and said :big_eyes:

you are almost halfway through.

I looked at my watch and realised that I so lost track of time and that I had to rush for work...
