Hi everyone

This is a very, very long shot I know but I figured if anyone can help me it would be someone on this Forum.

When we were in Lower Sabie in August this year I saw a book in their shop - cannot remember the title but I know it had the word "Silhouette" in it somewhere - it was a book with lots of interesting and unusual facts about wildlife - no pictures and by someone "local" - as in not an overseas publication ( cause I'm pretty sure it was an Afrikaans surname.) I do know it was R220 which is why I stupidly hesitated in buying it - but am now really sorry I didn't sucumb to the temtpation It's just hard to explain to the SO who has NEVER bought a book in his life that this little paperback cost so much money

Does anyone have any info about this book - the author, full title etc and where I could possibly find a copy - don't think I'll be able to get to Kruger for another year at least !!

I think I know which book you are talking about. I think the Author is Lourens Aucamp. I will try and find the title for you.

Babu - thanks for your help - I am very grateful for any info and if BB could get it for me at the end of the month I will be over the moon The author sounds familiar - I very stupidly didn't take down any details when I saw it and was honestly going to sneak back into the shop and buy it on the last morning but we ran out of time !

I looked at it briefly and thought how interesting it was but then did a bit of a double take at the price and now bitterly regret not buying it. Thanks for the heads up on the fact that its worth it's weight in gold - I will ask BB very nicely if he'll get it for me at the end of the month. If all else fails, the ISBN no should help me to find it elsewhere (I hope).

I do have the Beat about the Bush Mammals - didn't know there was a bird one out so will def get that one too. Am an avid reader of all things wild and just love going to into the bush armed with some knowledge !!
