Dotty - I bought Safari and Silent Predator at Estoril Books, Fourways Mall last Monday - they had a few of both. They didn't seem to have the "older" books, though.

Thoroughly enjoying Safari - I was in the bush at the weekend at managed to do a bit of reading, when not walking or driving!

Thanks Hippotragus I shall send my Jo'burg friend out on a mission to get them all or as many as possible

Just finished Safari - very good indeed. I even lay on my bed this lunchtime, just to finish it!! Another winner, Tony. Again, well-researched and very believable fiction.

Have Silent Predator ready next to my bed and waiting to be read.

I was wondering the same. Have just finished Silent Predator and so have now read all the books. Like you, waiting with baited breath for the next one!!

I love the way Tony describes places we know so well. In Silent Predator his character drives across the dry Limpopo river bed at Pont Drift. We have done that so many times and I can just visualise it!! It is a far cry (most of the time) from the "Grey, green, greasy Limpopo" of Rudyard Kipling (but it is "all set about with fever trees")!


I am recommending and/or lending my books to all my friends.

I think I saw somewhere that there is another book due out (in SA) in September. Is that correct, Tony?

Hi all, and thanks for the feedback.

Next one, Ivory, is due out in Oz on August 1, and SA hopefully Septemeber. Quite a bit of it is set in the Kruger Park, and Mozambique.

Can anyone tell me how much I can expect to pay for Tony's books at an SA bookshop please?
I've been looking at the online bookshops here in the UK but the prices seem very high. I usually go to Exclusive Books in Nelspruit's Riverside Mall (and there's another shop there whose name escapes me) so would like to know if I should order and buy Tony's books while in SA.

I went into Estoril Books at Fourways today and found that "Safari" by Tony Park is costing R130. They are out of stock of the first edition of "Silent Predator" but it did cost R175 for a slightly larger than normal paperback. The assistant said the normal paperback size will be coming in soon and will probably cost about R130.

I would assume Exclusive Books prices will be much the same.

Both books are wonderful, so you will have to make a plan!!
