Birding in Kruger

Unread postby carolynn » Mon Jan 07, 2008 1:01 pm

Prime origins Guide to "Best Birding in Kruger" -I don't know if this book has been mentioned on the forum before as I think it is a fairly new publication. I ordered it directly from the publishers in December and am absolutely thrilled with it. Should you be looking for a book on Kruger birds, I can strongly recommend this one - it really does give you everything you need to know. We are going up to Kruger at the end of January for our first trip in the summer months, and this book has given me so much info on where to look for which birds etc - as well as an excellent checklist giving the new English names as well as the previous name.

I would like to say that this is a "must" for a novice like myself. It makes identification so much easier, as it clearly states what might be found where.
It does need to be used with a a good field guide though.

There is also a wealth of information on Kruger and eco zones, climate and vegetation and how this impacts on the various bird species.
The bird doesn't sing because it has answers, it sings because it has a song.

I'm struggling to find this book - anywhere - it appears out of stock with the printers!
I'm willing to pay - anything (not quite but you get the idea!) - to anyone who wants to sell a copy - double the value etc.
Please send me a PM if you're interested
