This new book on reptiles was launched today! Written by Graham Alexander and Johan Marais. It is laid out in the same style as the snake book of Johan Marais.

It is very well done, and easy to read and use. Nice pictures and visual keys make it a pleasure!

Approx. half of the book is on snakes, containing basically the same info as Marais snake book. He told me that there were some additional info included in the snake section. Also contains sections on lizards (incl. agamas, skinks, chameleons), the crocodile and tortoises (etc.).

This looks like a book that is worth getting! The only criticism I have at this stage is the omission of any reference to other language names. This would have made the book much more usable! Seems to be a general problem with Struik books?

ISBN 978-1-77007-386-9
Available at Fascination Books at R 220.

Imberbe = Combretum imberbe = Leadwood = Hardekool = The spirit of the Wildernis!
