We're planning our first visit to Richtersveld later this year and purely by chance read a review of a new book -

"Richtersveld Cultural and Botanical landscape including Namaqualand"

by David Fleminger. Published by Southbound in 2008, we found it at Wordsworth for R81. (ISBN 978-190143-25-1)

What an easily-pocketable treasure of practical advice, useful contacts, maps, distances, what to see, the history, the people, the geology, the places... You name it. If you're new to any part of the country between Darling and Sendelingsdrif, have a look at this book. This will be one of the first reference books we'll be packing!
