Sunday afternoons are sometimes the more quiet time during the week for some. Sunday afternoons are therefore a very suitable time to remember previous visits to Kruger and/or other SA National Parks. Mostly on Sunday afternoons we like to plan our next Kruger Journey and even routes are discussed that will be driven during the next visit. Although they very seldom realise as planned on a Sunday afternoon as “we go where we want to go” when we are in Kruger :) – it is just pleasant to drive along old familiar roads using the Kruger maps  .

Are there perhaps any other “Sunday Kruger, KTP, Addo, Karoo, Mountain Zebra or … or …. “ persons out there?
(in terms of remembering the good times that you have had during previous SA PArks visits and planning the next one:))

I am paging through some photo albums of family visits to Kruger. Some of the photo's are black an white and on some on the back is notes written where they travelled on that day and what they saw. Kruger memories are always good.

We were having a braai earlier and we were discussing the very first animal we saw when entering the park for the very first time ever, we entered through the Numbi gate, my hubby parked the car, he went to do all the paperwork, I looked up and saw the biggest herd of buffalo that I had ever seen, what wonderful memories, now that time has passed us by so quickly, Kruger holds the most awesome memories for us as a family :D :D

That is a nice Kruger memory Tent Dweller. What I picked up when I paged through our family photo album is that Numbi was their preferred gate of entry into the Kruger. I hope back then they also saw a big herd of buffalo like you did.

Having a big herd of buffalo as your first sighting on your first ever Kruger trip is very special, Tent Dweller  No wonder you got hooked right then and there :D

:) MM and Carol.

Some time ago the radio was an important part of daily life in South Africa. Sunday afternoons were often spent listening to the FM radio :) .

Sunday afternoons is my favorite time to remember past Kruger visits although any day is good to think of Kruger but Sunday afternoons have a kind of relaxed feel to it 8). One warm August Sunday about five years ago we had the clearest sighting of a pair of Grysbok on the Mahonie Loop at Punda Maria. They “posed” for a few minutes and then disappeared into the bushes. And then … just a few meters on all of a sudden a lioness appeared from the bushes and crossed the road until we could see her no more. Well we were relieved that there was no Grysbok dangling from her mouth.

TD sometimes Kruger can provide for surprises :). It is interesting to see the different reactions in the car when suddenly many elehants are everywhere   :? 8) :| :o and so forth.

Something that we find a bit puzzling is when we visit Kruger is that we see plenty of a certain animal species during a visit and then during the next visit we do not see them again in large numbers :hmz: . For example sometimes we will not see many hyenas and then during the next visit we almost see them daily- and a few/many of them. Not sure how it works :hmz: :)

In addition remembering past visits I find Sunday afternoons a good time to plan for the next Kruger visit. North or South :hmz: In which camps shall we stay :hmz: In tents or rondavels or cottages
:hmz: - but these decisions are pleasant
