I once brought home a sausage picked up from underneath a sausage tree. After many months the seeds started to grow. I gave several saplings away to friends and planted the rest in a window box. I now have 5 bonsai sausage trees that are 10 years old and doing very nicely in their window box.

I also have a couple of tablecloths, tray cloths and face cloths from way back when, definitely very dated in their style.

Also a towel which my mother nicked about 40 years ago and was then too ashamed to use or throw away so she hid it in the cupboard and discovered it two years ago when she packed up her house to move in to a retirement village.

Stampajane your bonsai sausage trees from the Kruger must be very special to you. I am always careful to walk under them when they are full of those fruit sausages - one on the head would give a person a headache for the entire day.

I buy a book when in Kruger as I like them. The latest book bought in Kruger is about owls. Great.

My favourite KNP souvenir is a KNP map (with illustrations of the most common KNP animals) printed on linen (like a tea towel) which hangs on the wall in my kitchen :D

I have a lovely little rack that you hang your keys on bought over 20 years ago in Kruger, still in one piece, they made things well in those days
