Pretty, colourful birds MM and Trrrp.

I still laugh at my clumsy attempts trying to photograph my first Crested Barbet in the Park only to return home to discover that I had one visiting my garden.
I also like the Hammerkop Trrrp. I see there are no admirers for the Marabou Storks.
This Paradise Whydah graciously ignored my presence and allowed time for photographs.

Tomorrow I am off to find my first Narina Trogon.

Beautiful photo Mizzbee 8)    They are just such attractive birds.

This is another bird I find rather attractive. This was taken on the Rabelais loop. I saw so many of these birds that I now always associate it with the Sandgrouse.

That's a beaut of a photo MM  . Just love those huge eyes. I have never seen one. Well not since I have had an interest in birds.

Nor did I see the Narina Trogon which I went searching for today
To avoid future disappointment, I think I will head down to Lake Panic. There is a lot more to see.

Lake Panic always brings something. 8) Gorgeous Mizzbee.... You captured that stealthy movement.

Skukuza cricket is on its way. A few years back I popped into Lake Panic on my way to the final dinner at the golf club.

The sun was setting and for a while I was the only person in the hide.

One of those Lake Panic moments.

Ominous weather clouds MM. Lovely picture nonetheless.
I think I would be a rather nervous if I was at Lake Panic on my own.

I love clouds Mizzbee.

Trrp, I agree, there is something so special about Lake Panic.

GM, special moments indeed.

My son is the headless wonder in this picture. We went camping at Punda.... MM and 10 camping novices. This was the moment when we had to erect our tents. It rained that night. It was not the best time to find out that erecting a tent in a dip was not a good idea.

There is no limit to one’s imagination when cloud watching. A favourite pastime of mine with Weather phenomenon being a special interest.

I have learned so much about camping from the Forums.
All this information sometimes flies out the window in my haste to set up camp. I can then only hope and pray that the weather behaves itself. Fortunately I camp mostly in the drier months.
There are hard lessons to be learned when camping in the wetter months MM.

Trrrp, I envy your upcoming trip to the Kruger. Not long now. I have an age to wait.

Mizzbee, always something to learn with camping.

Trrp, not long.. that is super.

GM, the Mahonie loop is special, particularly when you see these little critters.

Aaah yes GM & MM ...The Mahonie loop can be filled with surprises. .your pic of the bokkie is gorgeous MM

Just such a peaceful drive, virtually only the bush sounds and the gravel noise from the tyres underneath, as you enjoy all of it's beauty.
