I'm a rise-and-shiner - usually with black eye rings that suggest double shiners - but, before long (and a good dose of coffee, yawning, and stretching) I slide into an easy gait and a whistling disposition. Whining is for dogs and fermented grapes. Monty Python said, "look on the bright side of life", to which I'll add, "Avoid the thunderous black clouds of strife, and be cuddly and considerate of your late-rising wife." Hypnotic sleep is easily achieved in the city by watching the Cake Borsse or the decomposing Bold and the Beautiful, but sleeping in Kruger is a challenge, especially when the jackals yowl or an earthquake of lion roars shifts the bed to another part of the room. The only time I enjoy sleeping late is when there's a freezing nip outside or it's raining; the rest of the time it's best to watch the sun rise and then enjoy the magic of an African day.

I am a rise and shiner all year round, I always tend to wake up in a good mood, it just depends who comes along to ruin it for me. Then when I am in Kruger, I am a rise and shiner and lets get goinger, often found sitting outside watching the park wake up and wishing my fellow travellers would do the same.

Definitely morning whiner - just ask those who don't get going when I wake them to get ready for gate opening time.

At home a different type of morning whiner. I get up to go to work at 7h45.

I'm neither- I simply don't wake up early!! Unless you count that I normally don't sleep before 1am - so technically I am up very early! In the bush it is a different story of course... and I will no doubt have to change my sleeping habits when I get a job. :naughty:

Me - I am definately a morning whiner.
Not functioning properly until about my 3rd cup of coffe, or 10am, whichever comes first.

One would have thought my kids would have realised this? Particularly on the weekend.
Whichever of the 2 is awake first, comes into the bedroom all chirpy and full of the joys lof life. And I am more than a bit grumpy.

The only time I am not like tihs is when I am in Kruger.
Jump out of bed the second my alarm goes off - full of expectation for the morning game drive.
