Attention South Africa

The latest cold front has sent many desperate people to seek safety. No place has been spared.

Some, however have decided to remain indoors and resort to the safety of the 4 walls of the home.

No matter what the weather, remember, you are the creator of your own destiny.

MM

The coldest parks in SA are probably Golden Gate and Mountain Zebra whilst the warmer being Kruger, Marakele and Kgalagadi during the winter months.

Those who were/are lucky to be visiting Kruger – are the nights starting to get colder :hmz: ?

Yes Grantmissy, very cool in the mornings and evenings, had to put on a jersey.

I've just had a squizz at the average temps for each part of Kruger because my SO wants to know what to pack when we're visiting in September. Suffice to say it will be lovely and mild to warm.
But the average low for Kruger looks quite tolerable, the coldest place being Skukuza at 5.6C in June but the rest are only at around 7.5C as the coldest. I know this is a longterm average, but overall nothing to worry about for a bunch of tough saffies - or are you all getting a bit soft? :P :P :P

I live in Durban. It's currently 30 degrees on this beautiful late autumn morning. My SA blood is very thin! 7.5 degrees is freezing for me!

I see on the 7 day forecast for Golden Gate the minimum temperature will be between 0 and 3 for this week, Kgalagadi between 3 and 9 and Southern Kruger between 6 and 11.

For London, UK it looks like the minimum temperatures for the same period will be between 9 and 11.

It's been lovely and warm in the park this week so far, in fact I am currently sitting outside on the veranda without any warm clothes.
They do say tomorrow might be a little cooler but should warm up again in the next few days.
