For your information, I was born in Burundi long time ago (Usumbura at this time), have spent 17 years in Congo (all my youth) Leopoldville and after Kinshasa. Back to Belgium (Brussels) with a very big nostalgia....
Many travels all around the world (USA, Zimbabwe (Victoria Falls), CostaRica, Dubai, Mauritius, Argentina (Iguazu falls) Senegal, Canada, Martinique, Rep Dominicaine, Tunisia, Cyprus and many islands of Greece ...and last year South Afrika
(Cape town and a short trip to Sambona Game reserve ... a little bit desappointed there because not enough animals but very pleasant lodge).

I'm English (with a bit of Irish mixed in) through my parents but I was born in SA (Sasolburg) and I lived near Jo'burg til I was 12 when I was whisked away to this cold and miserable country (just biding my time til I can persuade SO that life is more fun back home)

Home is where the heart is so I'm African!

First bunch of forefathers (and mothers) came out with Jan Van Riebeeck, others came out over the nex couple of hundred years. Lots of them trekked, fought wars - usually with each other- ended up in rebellions, trekked north again to Rhodesia, Zambia and Angola. Once they got over their sulks they drifted back to the Republic (or Union as it then was.) Also Irish and Scottish blood- also trying to get away from Europe.
So in essence I think of myself as African, but my passport says SOuth African.
Oh, and I support the Stormers. But well done to the Bulls.

Born in Durbs, spent formative years tramping the KZN parks and Berg and ended up in Ixopo and Pietermaritzburg. Have been living in the UK, Southend on 'Sea' (more mud than sea really) with my UK SO for the last 11 years. My Mom is from Southend and my dad is a Durbanite. As a result of my 'mixed' parentage I have dual nationality and the best of both worlds!! Aren't I the lucky one!!

South African born and bred - with a yearning to see the world, but knowing I can't live anywhere else but sunny SA.
