I have it too.

Lucky you Jen to get all those invites, I have not had one yet

I did discover early on that I had to resize my photos first as unbeknown to me dropbox starting uploading my unsized pics, and there was a little message saying it would take 28 hours or something equally horrific, meanwhile connection had come to a halt.

So very important to resize first.

Resize it to set width and height, not size. Which program do you use to resize?

I signed up with Dropbox a few days go and followed the tutorial (thank you DuQues for the trouble you took) to post images in a trip report. Things on my screen looked a little different to the screen shots, but I put that down to my version probably just being a newer one and I persevered as best I could. When I got to preview my submission, though, the links were not translating to images. They were just sitting there as straight URLs.

I fiddled around a bit more and then did a Google search on hotlinks in Dropbox. There I read, that as of August this year, Dropbox have changed their tactics and no longer offer a Public folder to new users. It appeared from what I read that hotlinking would not, therefore, be possible for people who signed up after August.

DuQues had said to use the Photos folder, and I had been using that, so after more fiddling (and some technical advice from my son) I found and copied the actual URLs of the images and posted them.

All good. The preview and the post now had pictures!  But then, not so good. If the post was read on an iPhone or iPad, there were no pictures.

It may be an operating system issue or a perhaps a browser issue. I don't know.

Last night, I edited my post using Imgur and that seems to have worked for both the Windows PC and the Apple devices.

How have other forumites been going with Dropbox lately?
