Very true Heksie. Marulas have other health benefits as well.

It is said that:

The leaves from the marula tree can be used against heartburn.
The inside of the bark can be used for the treatment of allergic reactions.
Marula oil is similar to the healthy olive oil .
The marula fruit contains vitamin C…

….and the fruit can make people, elephants and baboons happy – for humans the processed fruit - when having an Amarula sundowner.

It's that time of year the weather is getting warmer and the braais outside are starting to increase...... I wonder if the consumption of our favourite beverage also increases.........

Okay yes I know just for us here in the southern side but the rest might start a fire and sip some under a blanket.....
I live in my own little world. But it's okay they know me here.

A Festive Amarula Treat

Sip with care as Amarula is very delicious, you do not want to swing from the trees in the Kruger Camps.

Mix 60 ml Amarula and 20 ml Cointreau liqueur very well and enjoy with plenty of ice.

Apart from Amarula to drink with lots of ice on a hot summers evening in Kruger, it is also nice in food. I have tasted over the past week-end a melktert that was made with Amarula as one of the ingredients. It was quite good.

Both Melktert and Amarula are proudly South-African.
