Rhino horn for sale?

Unread postby Spikes » Fri Apr 17, 2015 9:51 am

I have just finished reading the late Lawrence Anthony's "The last rhinos" and thought about "the bizarre craving to eat rhino horn in the Far East".

I'm sure there is a fantastic market for "generic rhino horn". We must just get some reputable pharmaceutical company to manufacture a product that look and taste like rhino horn - maybe even add some vitamins to make it worth more, pack in in the same way and start selling it at a "competitive" price.

Just think about all the money that can be made to help saving the rhino - and at the same time take the poachers out of the market by gradually lowering the price?

Dalene we've got to get everybody in on this. Honestly I can not see why it is not possible.

By the way I'm serious about this idea! Just got to get some entrepreneur who also cares about our rhino's to get on this bus.

I actually remember reading somewhere just recently that there is indeed someone who was a long way into process of manufacturing artificial horn, just can't think where I read it? :?

Let us hope this is the one time 'organic' is not deemed the way to go then.

Spikes, I am sure big pharma (and I do not mean to knock them at all) should actually look into this, because it is a huge market, will to pay for the product.

Not a bad idea Spikes. I hope they export ship loads to those countries who need those for some reason. Maybe the rhinos will be left in peace.
