Heksie asked me that question, now we have the same cam 8) Wanna join our club? :lol:
CannonD500. twin lenses. wide angle lens, and one with 300mm zoom. It shoots at 12megapixels which is more than enough! And 300mm zoom is far too! The cam shoots really fast. So it is good in the Park for snapping away and finding some decent ones :wink:
You buy the cam with the two lenses at game for R5000!! A really good deal in my opinion :D And I didn't even bother to read the manual. And I didn't have any experience except with a mukndruk and I managed to shoot nice pics on my first trip! Easy to use cam!!

If you go higher than D500 ... it becomes silly :slap: The D550 shoots at 15megapixels with only 250mm zoom on the long lens. But that 3 megapixels will hardly make a diff when you shrink those pix to 640X480 to put on the forum! Then after that, the cam's get well expensive! So for R5000 you can get a user friendly cam that shoots at high speed and quality :D

I was thinking of starting with something simpler then upgrading to a dslr after I'm proficient with that. Maybe something like the canon sx130 or nikon L310. I don't want to get a dslr then have it sit in the cupboard coz I suck at taking pics. :hmz:

Evening mites :) enough learning for one night, will wake up early tomorrow and continue :mrgreen: fortunately itd only at 2 :pray:

Sleepyowl, a simpiler camera may be cheaper.... But a dslr is going to give you a lot more, even if you say you not good at taking pics :lol: I you enjoy the photography then it may be a waste to go and buy a dslr late on.... And they not that hard to use :mrgreen: My brother does professional photography and when he was home he showed me his camera, wasn't tooo hard :wink:
But its all up to you :)

What what what :shock: Holiday at 5 for the Kitts :dance: :dance: :dance: What a FIng!! :D

@Sleeps -
Of coarse it is up to you :thumbs_up: But let me give you a run down of how easy it is to take pictures on a Cannon5D ... you put the cam on autofocus, then you select a setting on the wheel like 'No Flash'. Only two steps. Then you keep it on that all the time and just press the button and your pics will come out beautifully!
Please watch this vid. I got the cam like a week before this trip, and just shot on autofocus and no flash.

I also love this vid :redface:
