that sounds like a flippin brilliant idea. except that i'm at work. sitting almost on top of the heater :P and wasting my own time. there's very little going on at work, so I'm sitting here and wishing the time to go by. well, I somewhat appreciate those days cox they're not always here.

At least you managing to get to Kruger quite often for these short bursts

I'm going to phone on 1 October to make our next year's annual family Kruger holiday booking for late August 2014. We often struggle to find what we looking for coz it has to be paraplegic friendly :hmz: But tannie Hesther helped us so amazingly well for this last trip :D I'm hoping to book two camps, for four nights each.

Top of the list
1. Lower Sabi, Satara, Biyamiti

otherwise Berg en Dal or Skukuza

Just a sneak preview of my latest trip: it was 3 nights skukuza, and 5 nights Letaba
Skukuza was uncharacteristically quiet, but we had 2 outstanding sightings which we will always remember
Letaba was quite good! We came with low expectations, but were pleasantly surprised! August is a good time to be in Letaba :D Letaba must have the highest density of hyena clans in the whole Kruger  This was a hyena trip through and through!

I just stick to the river roads, to avoid the Mopanies as far as possible  The H1-6 from Letaba to Mopani = terrible road  Our drive up to the Mopani region was extremely quiet. Only animals on the tropic of capricorn loop. The H9 to Phala also dead quiet, and the S131 dirt road West of Letaba. Even the road to the bird hide was extremely quiet. So I won't call Letaba a great game viewing area  The Letaba river road is decent, and the little tar stretch with loops just North of camp. Just sticking to short drives at the best times of day on those roads close to camp is best there
Didn't find any cats or big buff herds near Letaba in five days, but plenty of hyenas :D
