The Pictures of Shing are so shocking and quie sadening, You better go check the photo's out Kallis

I wonder how long it will take to repair the damage there. I'm booked in there in March and really hope it will be fixed up by then!

Yip, I've seen the photos, that's why I'm praying so much haha! It's such a bummer, because it's one of the camps I've never stayed at before and I really wanted to get there. I'm still holding out hope!

I would suggest looking at another camp and changing booking early!
There are many years to come where you can stay at Shing

Morning everyone

I went to bed at 03:30am and woke up at 08:00 because I found my place flooding! One of the pipes have a leak And now my place doesn't smell too awesome either

Oh no Cheets thats not good, I hope you get it sorted out, I once left my car window open during a huge storm, so I know all about that smell

The Proteas threw away that match last night, couldnt believe it

Lets hope Bafana can do us proud later on today

Hi Everyone.

I have been crying since yesterday, and every time I see those pics, I get tears in my eyes . Shingwedzi is like my home, The number of times I have stayed at Shingwedzi and visited Shingwedzi is unbelievable. I hope the animals are alright, including the Shingwedzi Pride who mostly sit inside the dry river banks of the Shingwedzi River

I feel soo helpless sitting in the UK, just going through the pics and crying. I really hope the camp gets repaired asap and that all animals are safe

Does any of the V's know how badly is the Mphongolo Loop been affected.

@kallis I am sure the animals are okay, they seem to be able to tell when its coming and head to higher ground

You have nothing to fear. The animals have superb instincts and know long before we can, that there will be a flood, and move to a safe area. Don't worry about it man! Seriously, floods are PART of nature. Animals live in harmony with floods. This is just part of their loves and they know well how to live with it! The floods will only have good effect on the animals.

It is just our man made stuff which is not OK. Shingwedzi will take quite long to repair I am guessing
