Yes, I'm a librarian, but an artist on the side...it's always been a hobby for me. One day I'd like to do more with it.

Just curious...for those of you paint... do you typically paint at home -from a picture or from memory- or have you done any painting on location in the park?

I've dragged my watercolors along and definitely a sketchbook on past trips. One of the problems is that we are on the go all day, every day. One day though, when I get back there again, I would love to park myself at some camp (like Letaba for instance -with a good view) and just spend the day painting. :D

As promised, this is a beautiful oil painting on canvas by Jay, of an African Wattled Lapwing (Plover), from one of my photos. My sister made the frame to go with it.

Hi all,
am back after quite some time... had a lovely trip to Kruger in June and since then have been brimming over with inspiration!

Here's my latest: "African Lace" based on a sunset we witnessed on our way to Kruger Gate.
