Collecting Hippo's

Wow, Oumie, what a collection. My favourites are the grey one on the second pic and the little one on the front right of the third pic. How many do you have in total?

Did not show the little one to the left because it is not for this "family" forum. A friend bought it for me in Gauteng

These 6 giraffes were inspired by our first trip to SA. Acryl on canvas, each is 2 meters high. As you can see, I'm not so much into realistic painting




this was finished recently, collage with photos and plant seeds.

An online exhibition shouldn't be too hard to organise.
A real life one, phew. But I would love to see it!

Gorgeous artwork, Kwenga !! And I like the idea of a forum artwork exhibition ... online as well, since we're an online community . Might be something to feature on the SANParks homepage?

I also like the idea of an online exhibition very much. Would be nice if we could have some kind of virtual exhibition hall where you could even wander through, some uploading space for high resolution photos on the SANParks website would be fab. Maybe something similar to the public sightings gallery? A public art gallery! Anyone out there able to organize something like that? (gwen?)

Ok,

I will set up an album in the image gallery called "Public Art Gallery".

But:

1. The images cannot be high-res. Max width or height will be 500 pixels. File size of the originally uploaded image should not be more than 500 KB.

2. We cannot protect those images from being downloaded, i.e. stolen. Can you live with that?

3. No selling of art can take place online, although we would not mind if someone somewhere contacted the artist (for example via forum PM) and inquired about purchasing the art.

How many artists are interested in "exhibiting"? That will help me decide which way to do uploading... Please open a new thread for that.

@Admin: thank you very much for your positive response and all sounds perfectly fair, will just wait to hear from all the others.

Anymore being done about the public gallery? I'd like to share some of my stuff too...(you are some amazingly talented people!!)
