ndloti, the stream is just past the Highmoor office en-route to the dams and caves.
I always place my index and middle finger in the heel of the boot to determine correct size. Normally 2 sizes bigger. This necessitates the use a pair of thin cotten and thick woollen socks.

I am now the proud owner of an easy-pitch Campmaster gazebo. Took SO and I 10 mintues to put it up and take it down in the garden yesterday.

I am also pleased to report that my Campmaster Instant 3 pop-up survived some very decent rain all night in the Pilanesberg on Saturday night with no real leaking. This was the first rain test for this tent.

The Trailbusters , then the Jim Greens (2 years ago one of the soles parted company on the Olifants backpack trail - I should include a pic of my rocky sandals that I walked the last 10 km with ...) and then the new Hi Techs - slowly wearing them in - another winter and they should be ready for a hike .

Theuns, the first pair of boots in your pics, is it Army issue? Mine looks like the same.

Air force and navy were issued black
and the army brown. Do you also wear
them boots to the ablutions in fact whilst
showering?

My wife's dog ate my well-worn and much-loved pair of Doc Martins. :x I'm considering a quality pair of jungle or jump boots as replacements.

No , not while showering , though when initially issued with them at the start of basic torture (training) we did fill the brand new military boots with piping hot water and once they had cooled off , wore them till they dried .

One of the prerequisites for conscription is that we had to be able to walk upright .

Just don't take your old army boots along when visiting Botswana, Namibia or Angola. Some of the older folks associate those boots with the old army, and will (and have) become hostile.

Josh, what do you mean by "No real leaking".

I spent three nights recently in pouring rain with my canvas Campmor tent of 15+ years and I noticed that where the canvas and built in ground sheet meet, there was a bit of condensation.

Does anyone know about the effectiveness of a waterproof sealant for tent seams?.

You can buy waterproof sealant (in tubes) at most large camping shops (Out***r WareH**** comes to mind). However, I have not yet tested how effective these are.
