Strine.......no I'm joking.

But the Australian version of English can be a bit puzzling for others when we include a lot of slang (which is most of the time!)

Seriously though I find it a bit embarrassing or even shameful that the majority of Australians only speak English. It is only those who have migrated here or have parents who migrated here that speak another language - and that could be anything from Greek to Mandarin, and aboriginal australians who speak their local tribal language/dialect and also English.

Lionspoon, I have studied a bit of German recently at University first year level and found it very difficult!! :cry:

I can speak dutch,English and a little bit afrikaans :o

well being south African i speak English and a small bit of Afrikaans
not very bilingual in other languages
