My latest arrival is a Husky named Jeddah. I am meant to be looking after her while another home is found for re-homing. She has however turned out to be a severe epileptic. She ate poison as a puppy and it has obviously done some severe damage. She is also not house trained, as I have discovered every morning.
So now, here is my dilema, I doubt another home will be found, few people want to take on a brain damaged animal.. looks to me like I will have another dog to add to my four dogs, five cats and seven Koi fish.

When I got my two females as puppies they dug my garden up and also took the springkler system out Then I decided one day to cut up an old duvet and put it in their box...well got back from my painting lessons and it looked like it snowed in my garden they ripped the duvet in pieces and played with he "snow" in the garden! Well they are all grown up now and acasionally they will dig in the garden. The son of one of my females did not dig in the garden but shewed at all the springkler pipes in the garden Had to replace it a couple of times Now if I lock them in the back garden (because we sometimes have visitors with small kids and I do not want to take a chance off them biting one of the kids ) he will then bite the hose connection to the tap off out of spite because he cannot get into the house
No we do not take them to the beach...tried that when they were small and had endless problems with them fighting each other. We cannot understand why they want to bite each other the minute we get to the beach! THey do not fight at home!

Was looking through the pictures and notes of your pets.
We have one extremely spoilt cat, Miekie, who is currently very upset with us since we now also have a dog.
Our dog, Kiari, is a "retired" guide dog. Her blind owner could not keep her any longer and through the Guide dog association we got Kiari, with strict instructions to "spoil her because she worked hard"
The whole family is thrilled with our beautiful black labrador, all except Miekie who can not understand why a dog has to share his living space!
I am sure he will come round though, although I think he will keep on sulking as long as we fuss about him as much as we are doing now - he is a clever fella!

I have just spent ages reading the 14 pages on pets. Wonderful. I haven't quite got to grips with posting photos yet so haven't got anything to show of my menagerie. I have a boerbull (Buster) who is 8 years old and is the most loveable teddybear. Then there is Snowbell the "cat pals" cat. She is snow white, very shy and extremely dainty. She is 4 years old now. Our newest addition will be a year old on 6 Dec - his name is Felix and he looks exactly like the cat food advert. He is also hands down, the naughtiest, most mischievious cat we have ever been owned by (and we have had many). Felix and Snowbell rule the garden and Buster has to bow down to them. Then we have 7 "outside" goldfish. We have had to put in protection for them as a Kingfisher has moved into the neighbourhood. Have been trying a while to get a photo of him. A stunning bird!

I have an amazing cat, White Paws. The lighting isn't very good

I have just been talked into adopting a kitten. Her name is Meka and she is now 11 weeks old. She is a tabby and has settled in very well. Personally I don't think she realises she is a cat, following me around like a puppy and likes to chew things.

Have a jack russell, Nols, the most loyal friend i can wish for ! He listens a lot better than any of the teenagers I try to teach physics and I would love to see his reaction to seeing an ellie or a lion !

Kruger would be paradise if there was a camp where dogs were allowed ! Nols has to "board" at the SPCA on every Kruger visit. Breaks my heart leaving him there.

I could not imagine my life without animals around me. I have 4 dogs (a maltese, a Boerboel, 2 bulldogs). My bulldogs are my absolute life though.

Jess the Sheepdog that was born in the Karoo but grew up in Sandton practicing for the upcoming SA Sheepdog Trials on the farm in Middelburg E Cape where Forum Member Foxy grew up. She was a brilliant worker and won many trials around the country

Here are my two beauty's.
The one with lots of spots in front is the oldest . She is 9 years called Dhiba. The other one is a boy called Talo. He is 4 years.

I have a tortoise Betka. It is the laziest animal in the world. I must hand-feed him because he thinks that eat from the ground is too difficult
He loves lay in the grass when sun shines and I caress him
And he is more than three times older than me Betka is my angel
