Mine was taken mid August on our way from Phalaborwa to Mopani when we went to meet with Rumuruti.
Nearly identical photo's. :thumbs_up: , but I think that "our" hyena was a bit younger.

After looking at these great pics I will certainly try to get many many head&shoulders portraits in November :wink: Think that's great fun :mrgreen:

Nope. :D Mine was on the Lower Sabie Bridge.

And just thought of checking for the first time - my birdie seems to have been a female? Chestnut belly? The male has a chestnut breast, making yours a male RUMURUTI. 8)

We sat with her for a very long time. She was totally happy with us being there. I could've stroked her if I wanted to. Another car arrived and we just pulled away, she stayed put.

Ok, I had a look too for the first time and you are correct on mine being a male and yours a female. We had ours about two feet away and great to see it was not frightened at all.
