Thanks all

Me and my dad were watching two male lions at Nsemani Dam in April and we had been there for a hour or so when all of a sudden this boomslang popped up out of the log about a meter and a half from where we were parked.

Watched it for more than 30 min before it slithered out of the log, under our car and up a tree on the other side of the road.

Ja, I would go with teh boomslang as well...nice composition, and good lighting, and its not everyday you geta close up like that. Good work man.

I also like teh two Addo elephants at the hide, I know Addo well, and that afternoon sun that just bleeds over teh waterhole is something spectacular.

@Mike1916 I prefer your no 3. Love the capture of the cheetah's expression.

@CathJakins I like the male kudus at Addo! Although the photo is a bit grainy and the colours are a bit over-saturated, the composition really works. :cam:

Great shots! :cam: Mike, love the snake, but have to agree with Gwen, the Cheetah shot is really impressive.

The day that I took the photo was a really dreary and horrible day so the lighting wasn't good at all  . And we were so far away from them so I've tried to make it look as striking as possible (with the little tools I have - no photoshop or anything) but evidently it hasnt worked. :slap:
Here's the original without cropping and only a slight adjustment of light:

Much prefer these colours. The non-cropped version is nice too. I like the desolate, minimalistic mood of it. Perhaps crop a bit off the top, to get the horizon on a third.

Hope you dont mind...I cropped it, removed teh noise, franctionally sharpened it, and then converted it to mono using a red filter effect to bring out the depth.

I did this in Paint shop Pro. Just to demonstrate that soetimes, "drab" photos make great mono shots :)
