Another lovely episode thank you Kaapsedraai! Love the Storks and the narration, with beautiful pictures of them!

At least you saw a Lion head! Proof that they are around!

Wonderful how the Zebra mom kept an eye on you while the little one was suckling!

Thank you for still staying on the bus and all the kind comments. :D

SurfCindy, some more BBJ's coming which are even better... :D The Storks were lovely and I could really close to them. Yes, I got 3 copies this time round, so hopefully some more to come...

avon vosloo, thank you for the frog id. The one book I have illustrated one like this one, but no yellow at the bottom, hence was not sure. 8)

Meandering Mouse, yes those Storks did a few fly-by's allowing me to take a few in flight. I agree, perhaps time for me also to get a book on frogs....will put this one on my list.

sammyv, the Storks were kind to me letting me taking a few photos. The Zebra mom was very protective and must say was standing there for a while after the little one had enough, then moved off into the field. :D

Philip1, welcome on board and never to late. Glad you enjoying the TR and narration - I appreciate it. Seems I am not the only one talking to the animals and trying to guess what they are communication   :D

Jan van Wyk, glad you love the stork on the branch. Thank you for the nice feedback.

sable, these fillies are really cute and the storks in the field and road were a treat to watch. :D The BBJ's were really active during this trip as oppose to my Dec'13 trip, only saw one far in the field.

hilda, a lion sighting remains a sighting and does not matter how - even if one only sees the tail :D
Glad you enjoyed the storks conversation. Those zebra fillies are just too cute.

Trrp-trrrrrrrr, I enjoyed a variety of sightings which was enjoyable to see. Some more coming up with lots of birdies between Olifants and Letaba. Stay tuned - got a nice Trrrrrp-one for you. :D

Heksie, that baboon was a sight and a half with evidence and all. I was fortunate to spot quite a number BBJ's which I did not see during our Dec'13 trip. The storks were really entertaining.

Continuing from Ngotso dam to Olifants camp, spotted a Black-shoulder kite on a tree in the veld.
Image

Near the Olifants river bridge, this Lesser Kestrel was relaxing on a tree and scanning the area for prey.
Image

The Olifants river was full and flowing strongly as could be seen from the bridge..
Image

I decided to take the gravel road, the S91, to Olifants camp as this road has been a good road sighting wise in the past. I crossed a causeway over a nice flowing stream and enjoyed a Pied kingfisher catching fish.
Image

Image

I switched off the car standing there on the causeway for a few minutes just enjoying the sound of water flowing and the scenery around, especially this lovely Rock fig tree while the Pied was busy searching for food.
Image

The view of the dam wall in the Olifants river.
Image

A pair of beautiful giraffes were grazing near the road.
Image

At some point, as one moves up to the tar road, one gets a nice elevated view back of the Olifants river when I noticed two elephants enjoying a bath.
Image

Arriving at Olifants camp, this Elephant statue located near the shop was sponsored by a company I worked for.
Image

At the bottom of the restaurant area, there is a nice viewing area and the two elephants were still enjoying a bath and seems playing in the water. One could only see two black dots in the river at the back.
Image

After a quick stop at Olifants camp, I proceeded along the S93 and S46 along the Letaba river to Letaba camp for my next stop on my way to Mopani...- where I also got to spot the first YR during my recovery trip ...guess who this could be... :hmz:....tbc

What beautiful pictures of the Olifants river Kaapsedraai!
The clouds look like cotton balls.
Lovely birdies, those kingfishers are my favourites.
There are so many green leaves for the giraffes to eat.
A wonderful green Kruger with a lot of fun for the bathers at Olifants river.
