We arrive at the gate before noon and finish the check-in very quickly.

Image

At 2 p.m. we can get the key of our chalet #31.

In the meantime we decide to visit the game area with Domkrag Dam.
The first animals we see are far away warthogs.
As we arrive at the viewpoint there are zebras for drinking.

Image

We look to the ground in front of our feet and see more stripes

and other visitors

On our route there are more zebras, this one is very close to us.

Image

Our first little zebra sighting during this year's visit.

Image

Together with mum and a hartebeest it enjoys the fresh green.

Another red hartebeest crosses the road.

Where are the elephants?

Thank you for your kind comments MM, Trrp-trrrrrrrr, lion queen, Wild about cats and Pumbaa. :)

The little mouse is my favourite too. I'm glad SO was quick enough to get the picture.
The mouse disappeared quickly as it realised we were not watching the zebras any more.

We were surprised to see so many cattle egrets this time. It seems it was their season.
You will see them on many of our pictures.

Maybe the elephants are at Gwarrie Pan.
On our way to Gwarrie Pan we see this leopard tortoise on the road side.

Image

As always you can see beautiful kudus in this area. This one enjoys the wonderful green.

Image

At Gwarrie Pan there are these lovely zebras.

Image

Isn't the little one cute?

Image

Image

Still no elephants on our way!

Then as we arrive at Rooidam there are elephants everywhere.
These ones are currently leaving the dam. They are in all sizes. :D

Sable,

Always nice to see a trip report of a national park that I have never been to.

Like the photos.
What camera equipment (body & lens) are you using?

Hi Sable

Hope you don't mind if I join you for the TR.
It's a few years since we went to Addo but I always remember standing on a hill viewpoint and seeing hundreds of ellies. Must go back sometime.

Love the mouse and the male Kudu - so majestic and aloof.

Regards,
DASSIEDLIGHT
