Eish, a bit late for this ride, but I reckon there's still room to enjoy the rest of the trip.

Stunning sightings so far and so happy to see Grootkolk still working its lion and brownie magic. 8)
How was the bee situation when you were there? Still no bird baths? :?

And btw, I think your spottie took a bath at Jan se draai.

Hi katydownunder, it is so great to view and read your stunning Trip Report! I am on board, albeit a little late, but your beautiful photos of all the variety of wildlife makes me consider my next reservation to KTP! Thank you for sharing! FMJ

Katy, I had a closer look at your Kij Kij cheetahs. I'm pretty sure, they are the two girls of Elena's latest offspring. They were still together with mum (and a brother) in October. So I wonder if they have separated from mum by now and if the brother was still with them and just hidden on that occasion or maybe they were still all together and Elena and son were hidden. :hmz:

Hope you got more of them eventually.

Hi KDU and Francolin,

I am busy catching up on the sightings you have seen before we took over. We were in Upington Friday night while you were either heading to Joburg or flying back home.

Those hyaenas and lions at Leeudril look very familiar.

Stunning pics so far and wonderful sightings.

Would have loved to see lion cubs on my trip.  Love your Grootkolk pics and great shots of the raptors

@ Pumbaa
Grootkolk is always amazing and it is ALWAYS a hard decision whether to stay in the camp or to go for a drive...

@ lion queen
 You never miss what you miss while sleeping

@ gatita
Nope, still no bird baths.....
And yep, the Bees were still there...

@ Carol g
It was hard to convince the birds that this was our bread

@ melph68
Grootkolk is amazing...
Try to get some nights there.....
You will love it!!!!

@ MM
The pups were tiny 8)

@ Trrp-trrrrrrrr
 We won the breakfast battle

@ anne-marie
The new box at UE looks great we were very surprised....

@ SurfCindy
Thank you!

@ hilda
Always so hard to get a decent pic of the Brownies at GK during the night....

@ Lionspoon
Indeed still a lot more days to come
The Bees at GK were bad, they were everywhere....
And I do not think that the birdbaths make any difference....
I even think that the bird baths were keeping the Bees from coming to the sink on previous trips....

@ Fotomaljohan
Go for it
KTP is always worth a visit

@Lionspoon
We just saw the two of them, but maybe the others were already gone and we were just too late to see them :hmz:

@ Son godin
Thank you 8)
On the Friday we were in Upington too, before heading towards Joburg and back home the next day.....
Staying in a Guesthouse and having dinner at BILO's.... :wall:

katydownunder,

We also had dinner at BILO's, but quite late ~ 10 pm. What a small world to think you might have sat a few tables away. :slap: :slap: :slap:

Indeed a small world...
We were there not too early too, just maybe arrived at 8.30pm...
It was pretty busy and we only got a table inside.
I guess there is a big chance that we have walked past each other :slap:

This morning we decided to go for an early drive...
At first we spotted a Drongo feeding the chicks...

Not even 500 mm past the waterhole we discovered a couple of Lions, no wonder that the Jackal was so nervous.....
