At Kamfersboom we found a sleeping Lion....

Image

Driving a bit further and having a closer look , we discovered that he was sleeping close to a killed Springbok baby.....
I know that's nature, but still I felt sad.... :(

Then we arrived at Twee Rivieren....
We checked in no time and moved into our home for the last nights.....

Of course we could no wait to get out again in the afternoon for yet another drive

We found a Sentinel on top of the ridge only a couple of kilometres out of the camp

A Heron at Leeuwdril

Another Meerkat near Rooiputs

A couple of kilometres north of Rooiputs we discovered the Cape Fox mum at the den again, but this time with the youngsters....

Now it was time to leave...

A Namaqua Dove having a drink in a mud pool...

A sunset Springbok

And a braai back at the camp.....
The pic is not as good, as I would loved it....
But I still think it pretty much shows the atmosphere...

28.11.
Our last full day in the Park (thank God we still had some more hours to drive before leaving the next day around noon) .....
And the Kalahari was still very generous.

Just outside the camp gates a Secretary in wonderful morning light

Then close to Leeuwdril we discovered a Jackal den with two gorgeous pups

Then they both got tired and disappeared into the den, so time for us to leave..

At Rooiputs waterhole we observed a huge Springbok herd having a drink and listened to the hundreds of Doves that were there....

The KijKij area was occupied by a lovely lady and her two handsome but very tired mates...

So we left them behind, we had only driven a couple of kilometres towards Melkvlei, when we spotted him....
An AWC, obviously looking for some breakfast...

Some morning toilet or was it morning exercise.... :hmz:

He knows he is gorgeous

Then he crossed the road right in front of us and was gone.....

Some bigger Ostrich chicks with their parents

At KijKij the Lions were still sleepy....

Image

We checked the Cape Fox den, but today we found nothing...
Instead only a about a kilometre further along the road we found the Meerkats again

In the afternoon back at camp we were busy rearranging our stuff, we wanted to spend as much time as possible in the Park the next day before leaving...
That afternoon the Kalahari spoiled us with that wonderful golden late afternoon light...

Of course we were sad that this was our last evening, but we still had the next day till around noon for a drive and were wondering what the Kalahari still had in store for us....

I have to admit, I was ( as usual) in tears when we left the Park  and headed back to Upington...
But of course we already knew back then that we will be back ;-)

I created my first timelapse video.....
It's not perfect, but ....
It shows the sunrise at Twee Rivieren, the stars and waterhole at Grootkolk, the stars at KTC and the moonrise at Mata Mata....
Hope you enjoy it
