We stayed with them for an hour. Then we desperately needed a loo break and returned to camp.

On the way we watched a drongo attacking a tawny

Back in camp we had breakfast and took a nap. The temperature reached 37 degrees at 3 pm.

Nevertheless we returned to Kwang at 4 pm. Still in camp we saw this lizard

Image

and there was another black-headed heron at Cubitje Quap

Image

we saw some willies and at Kwang the road was blocked. The lions were still around and getting ready for some action...

The Drongos are very brave attacking a Tawny Gatita! We saw them doing that in KNP too last week!

Awesome Lion sighting, and your pictures are fantastic!

That lion shot is hilarious!
The portrait of the patriarch is great though!

What was wrong the lioness? A wound on her ear or left-overs from munching on a kill?

It seems that harassing tawnies was very popular at that time.
We had the same thing, just on the Auob side. Fascinating to watch.

What a glorious lion sighting that was!   Love the pic of the boss shaking the cobwebs out of his head. Lovely shots of the dronga and tawny. Dynamite sure comes in small packages! Also love your lizard/skink on the red sand!

( about the G booking, would have gladly shared our accommodation with you guys if we could have. Looking at it another way, if you had got the booking, we would never have met  , and we would have only had a trip to KTP in late 2014  - I would never have survived.)
