It's a real pleasure to share with you those special sightings like rhinos when we are are so lucky to experience these beautiful encounters
In the previous chapter we were leaving Letaba to slowly drive towards Punda Maria tented camp.
During this last trip in Kruger, end of july and beginning of august ,the weather was very often cloudy and the light very poor with some morning mist.We were lucky also to have nice sunny days ,a must when you are walking.
But at the same time it was winter in South Africa and it's the kind of weather we wish we had during european winter
After a stop on the Letaba river bridge,a brief hello to some warties,a complete family,
we had a quiet drive to Mooisplass for a more than welcome coffee with some biscuits.
I like Mooisplaas.
As we are are more Northeners than South Kruger visitors, once we left Letaba up north ,we feel at home. And Mooisplass with Babalala are very familiar to us.
This morning, there was nobody at the picnic site when we arrived.
While S.O was preparing the coffee, I walked around the place to see if we had some activity along the Tsendze river
I disturbed some young males Kudu, beautiful animals (and nice reflection)
After looking at me, he decided to run
and stopped once he felt secure
He was part of a group of 4 young males who went to the other side of the river
While I was taking pictures of the Kudus, some noisy birds were trying to attract my attention
With their red eyes, they look very intelligent and follow all your moves, looking intensely at you
Always moving and chatting ...
Then before I went back to the table for the coffee which was served (thanks S.O),a last shot at one of my friends:
a nice hornbill
Those sightings even if ordinary make me happy and are what I'm looking for in the park
Rhinos, big cats one day and more common birds and antelopes another day but but so interesting
Like everybody, I have a wishlist but I can't imagine a ranking among all the daily encounters I have during each of my stays in Sanparks.
That's the magic of Kruger !
