Kesheshe... fantastic images. The look of concentration on that Jackal's face is perfectly captured. Reminds me of my Jack Russel when I put the biltong away.

Hope your husband's rash was not too uncomfortable. Not pleasant so far from help.

Hi kesheshe

More great pics.

That jackal's concentration and finally got his prize. Spitting feathers though!

Day 11 - 13th October - Continued

We had coffee and then decided to move on to Kwang. Kwang is a lovely waterhole with wide open spaces and unfortunately just as we were arriving a beautiful big male lion was half way across the river bed which meant we had just missed him drinking.

We did not hang around Kwang long and proceeded to Bedinkt. It took us a while to get there as we ran into a roadblock. No it was not cars like Gauteng highway it was a female lion walking in the road with no consideration for traffic going in either direction.

Image

This went on for more than a few kilometres before she got bored of this game and went off into the bush. We followed her for a while but then she completely disappeared.

By now the sun had really made its appearance but there was still a very chilly appearance. On arrival at Bedinkt the usual suspects were to be found as in lion, jackals, springbok, gemsbok but surprisingly for once no wildebeest. For those who know this waterhole well we went to the bottom parking area and amused ourselves with the squirrels for over 30 minutes.

Since we had a long driving day yesterday we elected to turn around and head back to Nossob. The drive back was uneventful and each waterhole was fairly quiet allowing us to return to our chalet by 10.30am via the shop to purchase some wood for brunch and dinner.
