In June 3rd, it was great to find meerkats and ground squirrels again. The latter were seen by us both together with the meerkats and alone.

Let us begin with a general view of the meerkats and their burrows.

Image

Here is a pic of a meerkat grooming itself.

Image

A sentinel taking care of an infant besides the burrow.

Image

Look how cute an infant meerkat can be, looking so beautifully and attentively to the world around.

Image

This is one of the ground squirrels we saw along with the meerkats, with its characteristic whiter belly and stripe.

Image

Eating something, in its usual posture.

Image

This was a funny body posture, while scratching itself...or maybe a break dancer! These days, who knows... :o)

Image

These are the ground squirrels we saw in Kamqua, without the company of meerkats.

Image

Another scene of an eating squirrel. We cannot be tired of them, so curious and beautiful!

Image

And they also have their sentinels.

Image

Finally, a very active Slender Mongoose (hey, super moongose!). He was so active that photographing was a challenge. Hence, the not so good pic... But worth showing this magnificent animal!

Dear Elize,
Welcome on board!

Dear Cape of Storms, Carolg, Trrp-trrrrrrr, Anne-Marie, Meandering mouse,

Nice that you found worth waiting.
Borneo was fantastic. I strongly recommend. They also have good facilities in the national parks, as we find in SA.

All the best
Charbel
