And a Zebra family

The picnic area at the Confluence is quite nice with little "afdakkies" for shade

And we spotted this little piece of history on a large rock at the back of the picnic site

Thanks for posting NetEk! I see that certain parts are even electrified! The fence in the Western Section is in a terrible state of disrepair - lots of places totally pushed over. Cannot for the life of me see any purpose for it!

We also visited the Treetop Walk

One can only wonder what happened to the surviving trees during the floods!
It looked like there were plans to plant new trees, but all the holes were covered with dead tree stumps?
An electric fence has also been put up since our last visit - to keep the elephants out.

The "elephant exclusion zones" are all explained here at the entrance to the Treetop Walk

Appreciate the comments Trrp-trrr, Pumbaa, MM and Hilda!

After spending time at the Confluence and Treetop Walk we drove most of the roads in the eastern section of the Park. Although we saw very few animals the scenery is awesome!

Some of the roads are marked 4x4 but we did not need to engage 4x4 anywhere. Would be a different story altogether in wet conditions as we found out on our previous visit. In many places there are cement tracks
