All good things must come to an end.....but we still had the one night stop-over in Punda and four nights in Mapungubwe to look forward to.

Goodbye - until next time!

The north of Kruger was really dry - on our way to Punda Maria we saw very little. We had our first and only sighting of Ground Hornbills but no pics unfortunately.
We stopped at Shingwidzi to buy some ice but they had none - even the automatic ice-machine was empty! Quite a few very unhappy customers!
This beautiful waterlily caught my eye.

Near Punda the weather started to look menacing and during the night there actually fell a little bit of rain.

Punda was busy but we found a nice spot - was only for a stop-over anyway. Our neighbours at the back were Scipio, PetraJ and family. Never before met so many Mites on one trip - MM and her daughter (our neighbours in Tsendze) and Scipio and PetraJ in Punda! :D

We just had to drive the Mahonie Loop! Animal-wise it was really quiet, but the birds were much more obliging!

And we were lucky enough to spot this - the mother of all scorpions! It was huge!

On the Mahonie Loop there really are some majestically beautiful trees.

The next morning we were up early - we had quite a long drive ahead of us that took us past Boabab Hill.

We stopped on the bridge over the Levhuvhu River to take some pics. Not in our wildest dreams could we imagine how it would look just a couple of weeks later!
