We were worried that the collar was becoming too small for the lioness - here you can see how tight it fitted

Around the waterhole there is very little shade and as the day was getting hotter the lions were looking for a shady spot to sleep off their big meal

To the left of the waterhole there are a couple of small trees

All four lions disappeared into the shrubs and we thought that was the end of our sighting - for the rest of the day they were going to do what lions do best - sleep! I am sure that was what they had in mind but someone did not agree ........

What happened next was really hilarious - the elephant stormed and the lions scattered! Not how one would imagine the "King of the Jungle" to react.

Thanks for the replies everyone! MM - I did not even notice - I've got two now!

That was not the end of the elephant and lion saga.......

The grumpy elephant left and the lions returned to the shady spot

I think at this moment the lions decided that enough was enough - they are after all "King of the Jungle"!
So they returned to "their" shade, despite an elephant still being present.
