I mentioned earlier the VUILUIL Black Shouldered Kite-Saw it descend to the ground, quite a distance away, and I knew it had made a kill, and just waited a few minutes and sure enough, up it flew again with what was probably a snake, though it could have been a monitor lizard, and without the binocs, it was difficult. Nevertheless, what a pleasure it was watching it devour its food.

Then it was giving the beak a good clean

Whereafter if flew off to another tree close by, and basked in the golden sunlight.

Now you can understand why I had to retract my vuiluil. Now it changed to "jou pragtige ding!" (you beautiful thing'.

Thanks Trrp-Trrrrr  . Your namesake will feature the next day, as by now I was getting pretty desperate to track down one. Its so frustrating to hear them all around you, and then you can't see them.

Let's finish the day-
Not the kind of sighting I want at the end of the day when I'm heading for camp.
Image

A beautiful Fish eagle
Image

Arrived, along with so many others, at Sunset dam, wanting just to absorb that beautiful place. A lot of folk like to have a sundowner here, windows open and camera clicking. It was not to be today, as a rather large troop of baboons decided they also want to enjoy sundowners-so little chance for open windows and drinks. Everybody on high alert, and others taking the opportunity to get acquainted with cousins twice removed. So did I.

This one must have been in a terrible fight

Last batch for the day
Would have liked this sharper-but shooting through the window does present some challenges.

The youngsters were adorable-and to think they have all the potential to be robbers and thieves. FOr now, they are safe with mommy!

I don't know how I managed to fall three episodes behind Noel! Must have something to do with old age!

Those two baby Ellies are so adorable! They definitely keep their mom and aunt busy!

Nice series of the feeding Black-shouldered Kite! Love the Fish Eagle too!

The poor Baboon's face must be very painful! :( But the little one is so cute! :D

Thank you very much Trrp-Trrrr, MM, Sheenaugh-Lee (ek lag so baie) NetEk, Barry and Hilda. Appreciate your comments and keeping up with this TR. NetEk, baie welkom hier!

Had a good nights rest, good supper, and very satisfied with the sightings of the day, and ready to tackle a 04:30 start in the morning, which I managed. It was gonna be a long day of driving. But as always, excited just to be there, and not overly concerned with what Madam Kruger would serve today. Sticking to the plan of just enjoying whatever comes along my path. The intention is to travel towards Skukuza, until the turnoff to Tsokwane, and return to LS, hoping to see the wild dogs that were spotted on this road. Then it was off to Molodnozi Dam and Muntshe Loop, in hope to see some cheetahs, which I have not seen in a few years.

Missed out on the sunrise. :rtm:

But Kruger soon made up for that with this beauty

The usual early morning suspect

Look at that thickset neck

Breakfast was calling already

Mom as alert as a mom should be in these dangerous places.

You spoke of that early morning suspect its so true the hyena is one animal strangely enough Which i don't expect to see in the morning but their hasn't been one time yet that ive driven out of a camp and not found one quite the irony maybe I should stop expecting to see the wild dog and cheetah and ill see them around every corner :D

No chance to catch up yesterday but am back now. It has been said before but I'll say it again - the little ellies are great. That must have been a very enjoyable sighting.
