Early March I had an accident at work which resulted in a fractured shoulder. Until 2 weeks ago I was not sure whether I will be able to work this holiday with an operation pending, but got the go ahead to enjoy the holiday first. I was very happy to hear that, as I already had to cancel the Indaba in May. So over the past few months I've learned to depend more on my left arm (I am right handed, and only has about 30% use of my right arm) and realised that anything is possible.

So, my wishes for this time in Skukuza will be lots of wildlife, hopefully lions, wilddog and a leopard or cheetah as well would be nice. Oh, and hopefully not to much people riding bicycles in camp or getting out of their vehicles on the road... :D

Goodness PetraJ, I'm so sorry to hear about your accident, must be very painful and challenging, not easy for a right handed person to have to do everything with the left hand

I do hope you have a peaceful time at Skukuza, and that peeps don't misbehave

Look after yourself and try and rest as much as possible

Do let us know when you have the surgery, and how it went :gflower:

Dear Carol g, MM, Nkulu, Trrp-trrrrrrr and hilda, thank you so much for your kind comments. I am lucky enough to have Scipio and my oldest and youngest sons to join me as well, so between them all the driving will be done, (and this time I have a reason not to help with the set-up of the campsite .... )

Furthermore, I only have to do camping duties at night and check on the day visitor's site and Lake Panic on a daily basis. The rest will only be road patrols and cleaning up litter next to the roads. So I am sure this is going to be a peaceful working holiday this time around. I am however going to take lots of pics and when I am not able to hold the camera, I have some very enthusiastic photographers in the vehicle who will be too pleased to take the pics. So watch out Skukuza and all the four legged inhabitants of the area... we are on our way.

PetraJ, this really sad news, but again some great news that you can still do some duty in the park under the circumstances and have some assistance. Wish you a speedy recovery and hope you enjoy every minute of your trip.

We will be away for 2 weeks, but will try to keep an eye on developments on the Forum.

Hey Petra you are a bit accident prone, just make sure you don't go tripping again at Skuks. Jokes aside I hope you and the boys have a great relaxing time with many a great sighting and very few hassles with the two legged type.
ENJOY.
