Another classical hyaena shot, Jan

and the colours of the sunrise are simply breathtaking - Sigh

We didn't see lots of animals the first few days, but after the rain the Springboks started returning to the river bed.
The rams started fighting..mud flying all over the place...







and the winner is...



Found the Crimson-breasted Shrike looking for food on the ground.



Always jumping around...



The Hyenas were still at the same place.



The grin...




To be continued...time to find some predators...

Fighting Springbokkies .... They are so dainty and cute! The Crimson-breasted Shrike is so colourful and beautiful! Great pictures!

The Bee-eaters pose again for some great images.









Our first big cat sighting at Mata Mata. We missed the Cheetah kill and it was on the other side of the river.

So far I was never able to get a decent shot of the Crimson breasted shrikes - Yours are fantastic Jan

Just been catching up after my own far too short a visit to KTP.

Stunning I did enjoy the cat's eyes... and the Goshawk kill was amazing. Thank you very much.

Day 11: Our first Lions near Mata Mata.

We spotted our first Lions near Craig Lockhardt. Two Male Lions in the river bed just before sunrise.

The King



Love the wide angle shot with the Lion in the river bed while the sun rise behind the dunes, creating the beautiful colours.

They started roaring and gave us goosebumps!!!
