Immediately he was named Pumpkin by my girls!

@hilda They are pretty cute but the Gemsbok are beautiful!
@ Me Skarabee Very happy and excellent nature despite the heat! Thanks!

After our restful afternoon we head out for a sundowner and park at Sitzas. This ovely Stilettoed ( Check the back leg!) lady came for a drink of water.
Image

Getting in there for a nice clean drink.
Image

Back at camp we watched the as the sun dipped behind the hill feeling that familiar sense of calm that comes with a perfect African evening. Fire started and drinks in hand. Sigh this is what it is all about and what keeps us going back year after year. Another Tough day at the office!

Image

Image

A peak at what tomorrow will bring with this sunrise over the hill!

The morning was one of those perfect Kgalagadi dessert sunrises. Like burst of copper and gold the sun breaks through the trees with the promise of another scorcher of a day.
Image

As we make our way past the dead little fawn we see that the caretakers have moved in.
Image

In the distance we year the tell take sound of a roaring lion. He sounds pretty close and then he bursts into view with a seriously determined spring in his step. He must be pretty thirsty because he makes for the water hole with singleminded focus.
Image

This was “Die Groot Maneer” as he passed the car. We were parked right at Craig Lockhart waiting for him!

Image
Let me tell you it is a pretty terrifying sound that makes me even more grateful that I am in my car and not out!

Image

Watch my belly grow as I do “Lion down downs!”

Spine Chilling - Image

Hear my voice as I let everyone know “The boy is back in town!!!”
