Some lovely night regulars there, LaVW. :clap: Definitely a kill worth logging too. :thumbs_up: Interesting that the buff chased you; do tell more: did he do a quick charge and pass or did he chase you for a while?

@O W N:
The moment the buff came storming onto the road, my SO said that he was obviously very nervous and scared of something. He might have stumbled across a predator or snake or something on his way back up from the river.
He was tripling around, swinging his head from side to side, when he spotted us. He immediately came trotting in our direction, still making snorting sounds and swinging his head. The trot became a full blown quick charge, for about 100m. We backed up, out of harms way, and he just stopped.

Just before the other vehicle chased him off the road, another Buff appeared from the same spot. The friend wasn't nearly as jittery as the first one.

So we don't really know why, but he was quite irate, and we were probably the first thing available for him to take his irritation out on? :hmz:

Day 7
This day was a day for birds...

I took a whole lot of :cam: of a group of Southern Carmine Bee-eaters while feeding. I got some really nice pics of them... especially the ones where the adult/male is feeding the female/juvenile.
(maybe someone more knowledgeable than me can tell if it was a female or juv?)

I could spent hours in watching Carmine bee eaters or bee eaters in general.

Thanks for the brilliant pictures Larissa :clap: :clap: :clap:

The one which is being fed is indeed a juvenile :thumbs_up:
