I love Miera's growling images Sharifa! Doesn't she realise that she is actually beautiful?

Great picture of the lazy Lions too, and the White-faced Scops Owl has been captured excellent!

Gorgeous picture of the Fork-tailed Drongo with its beautiful red eye! The Greater Kestrel in flight is absolutely superb!

I told you the day started at 26 Degrees and it was burning hot but we still had to go for an afternoon drive. After all It was our last afternoon in the Park.

Only wild cats and the Ellietons would venture out in these temperatures

Image

Lanner Falcon

Image

The Crimson Breasted Shrike has frustrated me over the years as it never sits still for long enough. Got it today :D

Image

Image

Image

Image

Also got a Pygmy Falcon

Image

A cape cobra

Image

who slid away and then peeped at us

Image

Swallow tail bee-eater and doves

Image

Image

African Wild cat

Image

Image

and a martial Eagle

Image

What a wonderful day :D

Feeding chetah, lion and hyena interaction, lions bonding, Miera, Falcons and cobras , Eagle and doves, Bee-eaters and shrikes, and the best sunset the KTP has to offer is at Kieliekrankie in my opinion.

Image

Tomorrow morning we leave the KTP :(

Love the birdie photos, beautiful. The The Crimson Breasted Shrike looks like it's very thirsty. You were very brave going out in that heat. Love your last sunset but don't love the idea that this wonderful TR is coming to an end :(

nice to have a Pygmy Falcon near by... usualy they are far at the top of... biiig trees
love the Lanner, the Pygmy... Falcon
right not so easy to have a Crimson-breasted Shrike... they are always in move... like Cobra, not easy to have it in focus... except if it comes to you
and again a magnificent episode  ... oups forget the AWC

What a HOT drive Sharifa and family!

Awesome picture of the Lanner Falcon, but the Crimson Breasted Shrike is absolutely superb! What a beautiful bird! And that gorgeous Pygmy Faslcon!

More lovely sightings with the stunning Cape Cobra, the beautiful AWC and Martial Eagle, and what I find very special, is the Swallow-tailed Bee-eater together with the doves on the same branch!

That is one of the most beautiful sunset pictures I have ever seen Sharifa!

Wonderful pictures of the great spotted ones
You have set the bar high-hopefully I can jump over it on my trip!!!

But you have put a spanner in the works. My husband has been looking at getting a new camera. It was between a Panasonic Lumix something and the the Canon sx50
He had made his decision on the Panasonic and was going to order it today
But after he saw the pictures Val took he is all confused :hmz:

I was going to get a Sony videocam as my camera is ages old and I wanted to take videos
I suggested a compromise-I get the Sony,he get the Panasonic
Win-Win

I love the pygmy falcon, my favorite. I'll miss this trip report once you are finished, but I'm betting another one is soon to follow.
