Twee Rivieren

We were leaving for Grootkolk today but first a morning drive is a must

First up a Cape Fox

Then Bat- eared Fox

Image

Lanner Falcon

Image

Gemsbok

Image

A Kori Bustard in flight

Image

A meerkat and squirrel foraging

Image

Then we went back to Twee Rivieren, packed up and got ready for the long drive to my favourite place on earth, Grootkolk :D

On the way to Nossob we see a Bateleur

Image

Image

We have a break at Nossob. While the drive attends to refueling I decide to go to the hide. It is blazing hot and I am not expecting to see anything. I hear this growl from under me and get a major fright
almost dropping my camera and messing my brooks ( Hi GavinW - thought of you here   )

Lions mating under the hide at Nossob  I get the rest of the clan to the hide

On the way to Grootkolk, we see general game and it is good to arrive in Grootkolk. Grootkolk has not failed us yet and this time was the same

Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for introducing Rockhound and Valerie, Sharifa

Val took great pictures of the cheetah

The little cape and bat eared foxes are cute, great shots of the lanner falcon and then the experience to have a honeymoon couple under your feet must have been thrilling. When a male lion roars close to where you are standing and you are sitting in your car is for me like an earthquake so much power he is having in his voice - Needless to say how the hide must have been shaken with only a growl:big_eyes:

Thanks hilda, it was a fright and it was on the walkway leading to the hide. You not really expecting anything underneath and not even looking down  They were mating but could not get photos of that

Foxes to start the day off with and a lanner like that ( )
certainly are an energizing way to start one's day.

And, yes, I can see that Val is a natural with the cam -
the bateleur is superb once again.

Mating lions underneath Nossob hide, hey? 8)
Wonder, if he is Mr. Handsome...
We got to see the lovey dovey couple a day later
(obvious still at it  ) as vinkie save some
shots of them from the cam. 8)
