Thank you for all the lovely comments and especially Hilda for help to turn the page....
Friday 21 December MorningNever thought I would enjoy waking up at 5am in the morning......guess that’s what Kruger does to one
We probably left camp at about 5:15 and took the road towards Skukuza as we planned to do breakfast at Nkuhlu picnic spot. Our route for the morning was H4-1, S30, and S128. It was so refreshing driving that time of the morning that it didn’t really bother us that we didn’t see much at first.....but oh boy...or should I say almost man
LionNext we saw one of my favourite birds
BirdieWe saw about 5 Kingfishers on the bridge but the pics were a bit too far and blurry. Next we saw this very cute but shy creature
Shy oneWe had a lovely time at the picnic spot! No monkey interruptions at all! They have a lovely fully stocked shop there as well. We were the second car there and could really enjoy the peace and quiet. We only had one visitor who wanted something to nibble on but sorry to say there was nothing for him.....
ThiefIn general I don’t like the following flying creature but those eyes!!!!!
EyesJust before the S30 turnoff we came across a long lost family member....
familyWe saw so many babies and young ones during our visit. Just couldn’t resist taking these
young onesWe saw very little buffs compared to our previous trip, but did see this one in his true nature
BuffWe spent a lot of time with the next young one when mister suddenly decided he was boss and charged!!!!
Luckily we were very cautious the entire time and gone in a second! But I think it is good every now and then just to have a refresher course as to how quick they can be!
chargerWhen we got back to camp we had a lovely lunch and a swim to cool off before our afternoon drive.
