Thanks for another lovely episode with awesome pictures and videos Katydownunder! :D

I love the cute Yellow Mongoose, lots of Ostriches at the waterhole, and a Giraffe drinking from the reservoir! That must be much easier than to bend down like they normally have to do!

Lots and lots of AWCs! Normally a very scarce sighting!

Awesome bird pictures too! Great shots of the Tawny with the Snake!

fascinating sightings. The large numbers of Eland, especially dying at waterholes remind me of my first visit during a very dry period in 2007.

Love the stunning AWC piccies!

It was already terrible in 2007, but then we "only" saw the carcasses...
This time we actually saw them die

08.11.

We were close to Sitzas when we had quite an unusual sighting...
A huge Monitor! Our first in the Kalahari

And then he was gone....

After that we spotted a very rare two headed Ostrich

What an eventful morning....

Back at the camp we discovered a spider that I have never seen before...
A Lynx Spider.

Image

We had to do some shopping at Mata Mata in the afternoon before heading out for our drive...
Just before we entered the camp gates we found this fellow...

By the time we reached Craig Lockhardt we spotted a Giraffe majestically walking along the top of the dune.

Our destination for the afternoon was Dalkeith Waterhole.
Here we found two Tawny Eagles.

They were soon chased away by a little herd of Kudus.

It was time to return back to KTC.
Along the way we spotted a Striped Kingfisher.

A Springbok in beautiful golden light...

A Kalahari Scrub Robin

And a couple of Wildebeest coming down the dune on their way to the waterhole.

Wow, what a day....
And it was not over yet.....
Just after we arrived at the camp we discovered something at the waterhole.
A Cheetah!
Unfortunately the light was already really bad for pics...

Glad, you remembered those videos from the last installment.
That owl chick is too cute for words.

The rutting kudus - a very special sighting as well, methinks.

And three wildcats in a row - indecent!
They all seemed pretty much aware of your presence judging by the videos.

Can't tell you how glad I am that I had dinner before watching
the tawny of the last installment. Great stuff though.

As much as I love fluffy owls and gorgeous cheetahs I do also have a faible for monitors - Yours do have an impressive size, Katja

Love also the interaction between the cheetah and the jackal in your video

As for the striped kingfisher
