14.11.

There wasn't space left on the previous page, to post a pic of our roosterkoek.....
They looked great and tasted even better....
I think the next time we are going to try some variations, like adding olives or thyme and rosemary...

Today was a very hot day and so we did not drive too much.
Early in the morning we spotted a Jackal at Craig Lockhardt.

Then a Kitty that obviously had a tiring night.

Later near Dalkeith another Wildcat....
In the very same tree where we saw the two together the other day.

Shortly after that another one....

And on our way back to Mata Mata another...

One of the many Kalahari Raptors shortly before reaching Craig Lockhardt waterhole.

After we had passed Sitzas we spotted another veeery tire Cat.

We spend the after noon in the camp, doing some washing and rearranging our stuff, as we were moving to Urikaruus the next day.

On the afternoon drive we saw and smelled once again the rain, but not a single drop reached us.

Image

We spotted the Tree Rats again....
See they must have felt hot too.....

Mister handsome lying underneath the tree....

Watching his dinner....

And later.... a Wildcat crossing the riverbed....... north of Dalkeith...

Magical Kalahari light....

It was already pretty dark, when we reached Mata Mata a couple of minutes before gate closing time, just as we had entered the camp gates we spotted this Hare right beside the road.

Later when we had the braai another Lion came to visit the waterhole, unfortunately too dark for photos and nearly too dark for videos, but a wonderful farewell sighting.

Tomorrow we are off to Urikaruus.

The number of wild cats you saw is incredible - I would love to know their whole number in the KTP
Must be uncountable ones........

The tree rats are gorgeous as well and the rooesterkoek looks yummy - I still have to try the recipe you gave to me - As soon as the snow is melted away and we will do our first braai here I will try them and make a picture

Hi Katydownunder!!

Had a lot of catching up to do  .

Stunning sightings all around, especially the cheetah mom with her cubs    .

And then so many AWC's as well  .

I still think that the time of year plays a big part in sightings you will have :hmz: .

Thanks so much for sharing  .

Hi Katy :D :D

Your wildcat photos are truly stunning :cam:
I particularly like the ones of the AWCs roaming about, on the prowl

And again, the little tree rats are delightfully cute

@ Trrp-trrrrrrrr
We saw many of the Tree Rats this year, was that the reason that we saw so many Wildcats ?! :hmz:

@ hilda
So you really got infected ?!
Keeping my fingers crossed for more nice sightings next year

@ barryels
Quote:

I was busy

We always had great sightings in November.
We have been in KTP in May, it was freezing cold and we had many wonderful Snake sightings, the landscape was different, but although it's really hot we prefer the November.

@ Suej
Not only the Wildcats, but the Kalahari spoiled us once again...

@ melph68
Thank you!
