Thanx Timbits!

To continue..

Our last day in the park! Tonight we were sleeping 200km outside the park. At Kamqua we found our closest battie this trip - he/she was still huddled near the den.

Image

We returned to Urikaruus to pack up and found the wildies visiting - this time unusually all lined up, bar one.

Image

We sadly said our goodbyes and headed for TR.
Gemsbok near Auchterlonie.

Image

One of two groups of lion seen this morning - doing what lions do best in the daytime.

Image

A close-up spotted thick-knee.

Image

Apart from pulling out a sedan which was stuck in a patch of thick sand, the morning was very quiet and we were soon back at Samevloeiing. Wildies were drinking from the road there.

Before we knew it we were on our last afternoon drive to Kji kji. First up 2 bee-eaters.

Image

Then a passed out lion pair. At Leeudril we found a beautiful Tawny at the waterhole.

Image

We then came across a big herd of springbok, and, while we watched they started to pronk.

Image

Image

And we finally found our daytime leopard....tortoise.

Image

Near Rooiputs we spotted a big group of vultures.

Image

(To be continued with the final post on the next page.)

LOVE the wildies all in a row. That is a rare sight. :D

It looks like one of the bee-eaters got into the hair gel  The thick-knee certainly posed very nicely, as did the tawny.

I've only seen springbok pronking once. Would love to see that again. And you got photos

Those vultures look pretty chilled but there must have been a carcass nearby????

Beautiful picture of the thirsty Wildebeest in a row wanderw! Great pictures of the Bat-eared Fox and the lovely Gemsbok. Awesome sleeping Lion sighting too! The Thick-knee looks so surprised!

Love the Bee-eaters and the stunning Tawny! Great shots!

What a Vulture gathering! I agree with Timbits, there must have been a carcass nearby. You pressed the button just at the right time to get a perfect picture of the pronking Springbok! Beautiful! Cute little Leopard Tortoise too! :D

We also have not seen springbok pronking too often - the times I can remember have always been on our last day! :hmz:
