Hi Heksie,
I know what happened to the vrakkies - they immigrated to Mapungupwe a while ago and arrived there last weekend. We saw all of them

Great start indeed :D You got a bit of everything on your first day.

That ellie is showing his best pose for you, nice pic  .

Great to see 2 gorgeous male lions on your first day  , definitely a positive start. Shame that you just missed a leppie, that would have been great. Hopefully better luck next time

It's so annoying when people start speeding once a sighting has been reported, especially with lions, good chance that the kitties will be sleeping there all day so one can see them.

first day  This was the first 2-3 hours of the trip  Much more to share and amazing sightings they were.
I have had my fair share of leppies and i do love seeing them in the Park-they are my mums favorite cat. But those golden ones-they make my day, week and month
Those speedsters :sniper: Wish I could blow their tyres or something  They do make me curse underneath my breath-oh well aloud as well

Melph we need to do a trip together because i see those ..... almost every time and you gonna be so  of my next sighting
Golden kitties would make me sit for hours just taking in everything they do, they are amazing creatures

Your zoom served you well there 8)

Do you remember those March cold showers at Sabie Park?
I love the S1, always scenic and filled with animals, if not the Big 5, the zebs, willies and g-raffs love this road :naughty:
I just loved those chilled out Transport boys-they weren't bothered by us at all :D
No heavy zoom was needed. They were 10-15m from us

This is not a sprint but a marathon...

So we leave the golden kitties and are on our merry way to Skuks via the H1-1 Image. I stop at klipspringerkoppie just to see my favorite rockjumpertjie so far and hidden that no kiekie can be taken. Sometimes they can be so spiteful if they want to be hey? I went a bit to the front- then reversed a bit-then to the front again but to no avail, that jumpertjie was snickering behind the bush because of our predicament. Image

The rest of the road was very quiet until we were about 4km from Skukuza and we see a small roadblock. Well we slow down even more and keep our eyes open just to see this in the grass...
Image

You must be joking!!!! Really doggies sommer so in the morning Image What a great day this is being for us. Now bare with me this is the doggie episode so there will only be doggy kiekies...
They were lying in the grass, not like my previous doggie sighting in March when they were right next to me in the road so I got a lekker spot, switched the ignition off and sat ready with the cam in my hand.

Image

Some of them were just lying and every now and then you would see an ear flicker but otherwise nothing. Then some of the others would sit, lie and then walk around and then repeat this the whole time. I think they were 24 doggies in total.

Image

Here is one with a collar-mummy dog

Image

Now in a bush you would hear yelping the whole time and these juvies/pups came out

Image

Image

Image

She stood up and joined them in the bush and I sweat some of them still drank from her Image
Then other ones came from the bush that looked like adults

Image

Image

Image

This one pup was very playful and kept us entertained for a while, playing with everything that he set his eyes one

Image

Image

Image

We sat with them for an hour and half. My mum started fiddling around because I didn't want to leave them. It was almost 12 and we still had to drive all the way to croc bridge. i just kept making excuses like just another cigarette...wait what are they going to do now...ag mom I want them to come to the road... But she said because a tortoise would overtake me anytime I had to move one otherwise we will have to sleep over at LS. And then with a heavy heart I had to leave my doggies.
Image
Oh and by the way she believes that she found me a husband there in that small traffic jam we were.Image At least she didn't ask numbers on anything otherwise I would've been moving in next to the doggies to be eaten...
