The bird hide had some guests.

They soon left and we got clicking.....

Then suddenly a young Kudu appeared in a gap in the bush....

followed by another ...and then another....

It was then a longish trek to the Lilydale section. Strange to find a fence through the middle of the park :hmz: :hmz:

Driving a sedan slowly with open windows became a nightmare.

The dust billowed up from the front wheels and into the car.

The inside of the car was covered in a layer of fine red dust...(still have some evidence)

This was the only negative element of the park.



Page turn required to show some more 'odd' animals not normally found in the same park......

The other species were the Black Widerbeest.....don't normally see Blue and black in same park...

We drove down the track towards the river....

Not clever...SO made me turn around...a number of bumps and scratches later we were out of there.....should be 4x4 only..... :evil: :evil: :evil:

At Lilydale reception a pleasant surprise.....

Gert from Grootkolk greeted us...instant recognition both ways....
Gert was responsible for our best ever wildlife sighting..."Lion vs Leopard" 21 June 2008 (video on You Tube)

our first visit to Grootkolk, camp was not ready and he asked us to go for a drive....
